The great temple Beang Melea immersed in the jungle, the town on stilts and the floating village of Kompong Kleang great lake Tonle Sap: two completely different scenarios of Cambodia although close together. A day trip to take a step back in time and observe a present frozen in time.
The two visits are an excellent combination that allows us to know two different realities of the nation.
A 60 km from Sian Reap is the largest complex of Beng Melea, a temple with an adjoining monastery, all surrounded by forest, which covers an area of over one square kilometer. Built in the same style and the same king, Suryavaraman II, who built Angkor Wat, Beang Melea can even be considered a prototype of the great temple. With the exception of Ta Phrom, this complex offers the best shots of vegetation and large trees integrated into the temple. (Photo: http: //templicam.blogspot.com/)
Back to the state and turning in the direction of Lake Tonle Sap after 15 Km you will arrive at Kompong Kleang town, built on stilts high twenty meters, with 4 temples Teravada attended by monks and the population count of several thousand inhabitants.
With a boat you go to the floating village, inhabited mainly by Vietnamese, where it is possible to observe an entire community living on large and small boats. The 'economy of this town is linked to the trade of fish products, both fresh and dried or smoked.
A brief description of the program to get an idea on the tour development in several days. On request you can make changes consistent with the real practical feasibility.
